From Eliyahu
It has been established beyond all doubt that Yeshua, at His first coming, built and established His Messianic administration of the Davidic Kingdom. That He was doing so was the "Good News of the Kingdom" that He preached. Besides bringing "multitudes" into His Kingdom, Yeshua established His Kingdom administration, appointing The Twelve Emissaries, and He also sent out The Seventy. Just before His death He presented Himself to the people as their King, and they accepted Him as such. However, the corrupt powers of the day refused to accept their King, preferring to hang on to their illegitimate power - so they killed the Lord of Glory. This was a vain thing, since death could not hold Him, and He was raised on the 3rd day.
After His death and resurrection, but before His ascension, Yeshua appeared to His brother, James, who was, of course, of the same Davidic line as Yeshua. At that meeting Kingdom Authority from Yeshua was conferred upon James to become the earthly Davidic leader of the Nazorean Assembly. Hebrew Matthew tells us:
'Now the Lord, after he had given his grave clothes to the servant of the priest, appeared to James, for James had sworn that he would not eat bread from that hour in which he had drunk the Lord's cup until he should see him risen from the dead.' And a little further on the Lord says, 'bring a table and bread.' And immediately it is added, 'He took bread and blessed and broke and gave it to James the Just and said to him, "My brother, eat your bread, for the Son of Man is risen from the dead."' And so he ruled the church of Jerusalem thirty years" [Jerome, On Illustrious Men]
In appointing James to lead the Kingdom Government in the Earth under Yeshua as Heavenly King, Messiah was honoring the everlasting covenant for a House and a Kingdom that YHWH had made with David. Notice the generational nature of this passage, as well as seeing the faithfulness of YHWH toward the assembly in this:
"I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David, my servant, I will establish your seed forever, and build up your throne to all generations. The heavens will praise your wonders, YHWH; your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones." (Psalms 89:3-5)
This amazing passage assures us that this Davidic leadership will be provided even at the Remnant Exodus:
"Thus says YHWH: If my covenant of day and night fails, if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; then will I also cast away the seed of Jacob, and of David my servant, so that I will not take of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and will have mercy on them." (Jeremiah 33:25-26)
By appointing James to govern the Assembly of the Nazoreans which Yeshua had already been building, Yeshua was also appointing the Davidic Dynasty that was to govern the Assembly in Kingdom authority through the generations thereafter, until His Return. As we read above, James governed for 30 years and was martyred shortly before the Romans put Jerusalem under siege - then the Romans left.
After James, Simeon, a Davidic cousin of James, was given the Kingdom authority from Messiah to govern, and he did so, when at the word of Messiah he led the Nazorean Assembly out of Judea to Syria. This move was by Divine providence, since after that, the Romans came back and destroyed Jerusalem, the Temple, and Judea as a nation. Yes, the faithful Nazoreans had been saved by the word of Messiah and by the Davidic leadership of Simeon. Simeon continued to govern well into the 2nd Century until he was martyred by the Romans at 120 years old.
It was during the later years of Simeon's life that the Gentile believers rebelled in earnest against the Davidic authority of the Nazoreans. Men who became known as the "Church Fathers" did, in fact, usurp the part of the Nazorean message they liked, and jettisoned the rest, to father what we now know as the Christian Church.
Christianity as we know it is actually a schism away from the Nazoreans. The Church fathers turned against all things Hebrew, including the Commandments of the Torah, and in doing so created a more palatable doctrine for the Gentile pagans. Greek and Roman philosophy, as well as familiar pagan beliefs and practices were Christianized to bring in the masses. This was wildly successful. By the 4th Century this syncretistic conglomeration became institutionalized as the Roman Catholic Church.
The 4th Century Roman Church claimed that they were the original group descended from the Apostles, while, they said, all other groups were 'sects' that had broken off from them. This preposterous story line is still believed today by Catholics and Protestants. However, it is a matter of historical fact that the original group established by Messiah, led by Davidic leaders, namely the Nazoreans (more ancient spelling "Nazoraeans") had continued on after the Gentile schism. Epiphanius, the Catholic historian/spin-doctor admitted as much in his Panarion, a book listing and commenting on some eighty groups seen by the Church as heretical sects. Among them he lists the Nazoreans, in these words:
“This sect of Nazoraeans is to be found in Beroea near Coelesyria, in the Decapolis near Pella, and in Bashanitis at the place called Cocabe – Khokhabe in Hebrew. For that was its place of origin, since all the disciples had settled in Pella after their remove from Jerusalem – Christ having told them to abandon Jerusalem and withdraw from it because of the siege it was about to undergo. And they settled in Peraea for this reason and, as I said, lived their lives there. It was from this that the Nazoraean sect had its origin” (Epiphanius, Panarion, 29/7:7-8).
Imagine that! The original Nazoreans raised up by Messiah, led by a Davidic leader with Kingdom authority, confirmed by their faithfulness in leaving Judea on His word - still functioning in the 4th Century. These were spun by the break-away Gentile Church as the heretics, while they, the rebels against Kingdom authority, were now supposed to be the true Church! They weren't then and they are not now. If anyone is still looking to the Christian Church to complete the will of God on Earth they should consider these facts. The truth is, the Gentile Christian movement stepped away from the true Kingdom authority, Davidic authority, established by Yeshua Messiah nearly 2000 years ago.
Here is some good news though. The Scriptures indicate that this Davidic Kingdom authority is restored in the Last Days. Jeremiah 33:25-26 above links that to the return from exile in the Remnant Exodus.
Also, the Christian Church began by abandoning the commandments of the Torah, which they term "the Law", and they continue in this stance. However, the Nazoreans, walking in the Way of Yeshua, both observe the Torah and trust in Yeshua for Salvation. The Book of Revelation foretells who the overcomers are at the end of the age and in the age to come:
"The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep God's commandments and hold Yeshua's testimony." (Revelation 12:17)
"Here is the patience of the holy ones, those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Yeshua." (Revelation 14:12)
Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. (Revelation 22:14)
These are Nazorean believers! You can tell because they both "keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Yeshua." This means a resurgence of the Messianic Nazorean Assembly must happen before the Great Tribulation, and even before the Second Exodus. This requires the House of David to rise up in Kingdom authority to organize Messiah's disciples in readiness for the remnant return to Israel - just as Simeon led the disciples out of harms way back in the 1st century. Surely, these are exciting times.
Do we have any sign that this restoration of the Kingdom in the midst of Messiah's people is under way? Yes, we do! More about that tonight.
Tonight we will be streaming our final episode of our Kingdom Foundations seminar. This stream will be entitled Kingdom Restoration. Our live stream will begin at Tsiyon.Net at 8 PM, Central. Don't miss Kingdom Restoration.
